The 4th Sunday of Easter is called "Good Shepherd" Sunday. The Bible uses the picture of the shepherd and the sheep many times. There are many shepherds, those who tell people what they want to hear, those who lead people away from the one true God, but there is only ONE Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ. The Shepherd who guides and protects His sheep as they live in a sinful, dangerous world. The world He overcame with His life, death and resurrection. Jesus invites all to turn from their sin, believe in Him, and follow Him, the one who laid down His life for the sheep. Our pray is that you believe in Jesus Christ, are forgiven in Him, and find comfort in knowing that heaven will be your eternal home through Him. Your brothers and sisters in Christ at Zion.

Today Christ appears to His disciples and states: "Peace be with you!" A much different greeting than the normal "shalom" they were used to. They were behind locked doors in fear of their lives. Jesus appears and gives them his peace as the risen Savior, victorious over death, satan and the world. A peace which would give them the confidence to go to the world sharing the news of Christ crucified and risen. Our prayer at Zion is that in faith you also receive that same Peace from the Risen Savior as you have been given victory over sin, satan and the sinful world you live in.

He is Risen! We continue to celebrate that great news which has assured us victory over this world! This morning we learn from John, an eyewitness of our all that our Lord did and taught. An eyewitness of our Lord's crucifixion and death. An eyewitness to the Father's rejection of His Son in our place. An eyewitness who not only heard and saw, but touched our Risen Savior! John invites us into a relationship with that same Risen Lord and Savior! God's rich and continued blessings to you! Your brothers and sisters in Christ at Zion.
